The Beaumont Business Association (BBA) and local businesses on NE Upper Fremont are proud to present the 26th Anniversary of the Fremont Festival to be held on August 4, 2012 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Plans to close the street again from NE 42nd to
NE 52nd are underway. The BBA is working on some new events that should attract families in and around surrounding neighborhoods. The event kicks off with a Bike Parade/Pet Parade starting at Beaumont Middle School.

Parents, kids and pets are encouraged to decorate their bikes, don their costumes for themselves and their pets and meet at the school at 9:30. Vintage Cars will head up the parade followed by bikes and pets. There will be prizes awarded for Best Bike Decoration, Best Kids Costume, Best Parent Costume and Best Pet Costume. Dance Groups, Scouts, and others are encouraged to participate. After the parade the street will be closed and set up with vendors and games for all the neighbors to enjoy.
Some of the scheduled Events
- Foot Traffic to sponsor 5K run/walk – Plans are underway for a 5K run/walk to begin prior to the parade. Information on sign ups and times will be available through Foot Traffic soon.
- Salsa Challenge at Fremont Festival – Come and share your best Salsa. By August we should be seeing some great tomatoes and if you think you have a “killer” salsa we encourage you to enter our Salsa Challenge at this year’s Fremont Festival. The two Award Categories will be PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD and JUDGES AWARD. The community will taste and vote for their favorite Salsa for the PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD. Official Judges will be chosen from among local restaurants for the JUDGE’S AWARD. Individuals can taste all the salsas and then vote for their favorite Salsa
- Local Establishments to Sponsor Pub Crawl – Plans are underway to create a spectacular Pub Crawl along Upper NE Fremont during the Fremont Festival. Tickets can be purchased along at the Beaumont Business Association Booth that will buy you tastes of local beers at all the participating establishments along the street as well as a commemorative mug. Commemorative mugs can be purchased at the Fremont Festival or in advance at participating establishments.
- Kids Zone – A Kids Zone larger than ever before is a must! There will be more bounce houses, face painting, art tables, craft tables, cake walks and pie eating contests. Kids will receive a wrist bracelet and free kids t-shirt when they purchase an all-day pass to the Kids Zone. Wristbands & t-shirts can be purchased at Fremont Festival Sales booths.
- Entertainment – This year the Fremont Festival will have several stages with live bands and entertainment all day.
- Vendors – The 2011 Fremont Festival will have space for up to 100 art/craft vendors selling local and exotic goods. The BBA is also looking for local non-profit groups to raise needed funds for their organization by having a vendor booth to sell food, games of chance or art/craft.
- Vintage Car Display – After the parade the vintage cars will line the street in front of Jim & Patty’s for people to view and talk to the owners of the cars. If you have a vintage car and would like to participate in the parade and street display please contact us today!

Good day, My partner and I are opening an all local, organic, and vegan food cart pulled by us on a tandem bicycle. We are interested in being part of the Fremont fest, and would like to know how to apply. thank you
Vendor applciations are now available under Events/Vendors. Please complete, sign (since we need the waiver) and return to us ASAP. Space is limited this year since our business association members come first, but we would love to have as much variety as we can to add “flavor” to the event. Questions….call us at 503 898-0697.
Please notify me when it’s possible to apply for a vendor space at the Street Fair in August. I enjoyed being there last year.

The vendor application is a link in the middle of the page to a fillable PDF. Please complete, sign and return to us ASAP as space is limted. If you want to volunteer for the Festival you can do that under Join Us/Volunteer. Groovy?
